PSX - Essential Textures
A downloadable asset pack
PSX Essential Textures — 32 textures (64×64)
A compact, retro-inspired 64×64 texture pack made for low-fi/PSX-style projects. Includes multiple variations of stone, grass, dirt, sand, wood and metal — perfect for quick prototyping or finishing a pixel-low aesthetic.

What's included
- 32 PNG textures — 64×64 pixels, PNG-24, transparent where appropriate.
- 32 Normal maps — generated normals included (useful if you want a little depth even with an unlit look).
- Source folder — neatly organized: /Textures, /NormalMaps
Texture categories (examples)
Multiple variants for each category to mix-and-match:
- Stones & cobbles
- Grasses & groundcovers
- Dirt & mud tiles
- Sands
- Woods
- Metals — rusted and clean plates
Why this pack?
Designed to be small, fast, and visually consistent with PSX-era visuals while still being easy to use in modern engines. The 64×64 resolution locks in the retro feel and keeps build sizes tiny.
Quick installation (Unity URP)
- Open your Unity project (using Universal Render Pipeline).
- Drag the
Texturesfolder intoAssets/in the Project window. - Select each PNG and in the Inspector set Texture Type to
Default, set Wrap Mode toRepeatif you intend to tile, and set Filter Mode toPoint (no filter)for sharp pixel edges (orBilinearfor softer). - Drag the included URP Unlit materials onto meshes/sprites as needed.
- Normal maps: in import settings, set the texture type to
Normal map(if Unity hasn't auto-detected), then apply to materials that support normal mapping.

Changelog
v1.0 — Initial release: 32 textures, 32 URP unlit materials, 32 normal maps.
Tips: For a sharp pixel aesthetic in Unity set Filter Mode to Point and disable mipmaps for these 64×64 textures. To get a slightly smoother look keep Bilinear and enable mipmaps.
Thanks for checking out PSX Essential Textures — enjoy making retro worlds!
